Tyre repairs in East Kent

Can you fix a tyre puncture?

Tyre Punctures happen all the time and inconvenience everyone, luckily, we can repair your tyre punctures in an extremely speedy fashion. If you’re not sure if your tyres can be repaired, come in and we’ll have a look for you.

We follow the British Standard – BSAU159 which defines a specific limit to the location size and number of repairs on a puncture, if your puncture is outside of these limits you will not be able to repair the tyre and will need to purchase a new one to replace it.

Puncture location

If your puncture is located outside the minor repair area (Also known as the central ľ) it will be deemed as too close to the sidewall for repair and due to British Standard BSAU159 will require replacement instead of repairing.

We highly suggest having spare tyres in place in-case this occurs, make sure to pick the right tyres for your vehicle.

Why is my tyre loosing pressure?

There’s a multitude of reasons your tyre may be loosing pressure, more often than not you will find a solid object stuck inside your tyre. However, in some cases you may find a faulty valve or rim leaking air which is causing your tyre to go flat. It’s best to come in and get this seen before your tyre is entirely flat.

What types of damage can my tyre get?

Tyre damage isn’t limited to punctures, if you’ve noticed any change in the way your vehicle handles whilst driving we highly suggest coming in for a check up rather than a self-puncture repair kit. Some of these characteristics can include:

  • Illegal tread depth (Below 1.6mm)
  • Deterioration of tyre rubber
